Nothing Nice…

We’ve all heard the phrase if you can’t see anything good don’t say nothing at all to me that phrase has been something that’s been passed down from generation to generation I found that there is a quote that systems that phrase up pretty good as well but with a different spin.

“To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing” – Elbert Hubbard

When people live their lives are often fearful of what other people think they vehemently avoid having to deal with negative feedback or peer pressure that they believe average person doesn’t have in their lives or do they?

It is in our nature to avoid pain and to embrace pleasure. So I is it that we make it a point to cause ourselves paying just to avoid the opinions of others?

Today I ask you do you want to be in control of your life?

Think about it this way if you decide that you want to take control of your life start with the following thoughts:

  • I am responsible for my environment
  • I’m responsible for my perception
  • I am responsible for what I do or don’t believe.

Try to keep these statements in mind for one day and you will be amazed at the results.

Let me know your results below. Id love to hear them

My Personal Development – Day 002

Posted on Sep 30, 2011 in Motivation, My Days, Personal Development | 0 comments

I have been on a mission for several years to improve what my life is all about. It was difficult for me to do so when I did not believe that I had what one would call effective role models or even an awareness of the truly wonderful books that contained exactly what I sought. When I was younger I was an avid reader. I would read anything from comic books to text books that I had no idea what I was reading initially but I would have a dictionary near to look up every word that I did not know.
That was when I was originally introduced to Think and Grow Rich. It really opened my mind to many possibilities and outcomes.
I realized that when undertaking personal development a person should have the maturity to take 100% responsibility for their health, career, finances, relationships, emotions, habits, spiritual beliefs. It requires taking a hard look at yourself, consciously deciding what kind of person you truly are on the inside, and then getting your actions to be congruent with your true self.  The goal is to help achieve outstanding effectiveness while maintaining internal balance, where your thoughts, feelings, actions, and skills are all working together to create the life you truly desire.
You’ll need to learn practical ideas to make important changes in your life, both big and small, so you can get your life on track and start living up to your potential. Sure I made mistakes after that and I am sure that there might be a few more to make along the way. There are only 2 things that happen in life for me now… Success or a lesson on how not to do something. Since I have adopted that I have had som much less stress in my life and so many more successes.

I have done things and have really amazed myself on the growth that had taken place. For each of us there is an ability to unlock bits and pieces of potential that can catapult us to places we have never dreamed possible. Legitimately when you decide where you want to go is when the engines engage and you begin to move. The clearer you are about the destination is when you can focus the driving force into the series of actions that will ensure your success.

Combine that with surrounding yourself with like minded people and you will begin to really see things happen around you. It has been said that you must distance yourself from those who in their best intentioned efforts try to discourage you from change and movement. I have a slightly different thought on those personalities… If you want them to drive your life, hand them the keys!

If you want to be control and take charge of what is happening to you then you need to be clear in no uncertain terms that you are driving and you wont stop until you cross the finish line! Each moment that passes with you in full control of your destiny contributes to your strength in not being derailed or not being able to overcome the inevitable challenges that will come your way.

The Setup For Success! Day – 001

Posted on Sep 29, 2011 in Motivation, My Days, Personal Development | 0 comments

Today I decided to start a blog post a day of the lesson or lessons learned each day. This way It will get me back into the habit of writing and keep my perspective growing. Over the last couple of weeks I have met some really amazing people from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of success. Some of which I really look forward to the many projects that I will be collaborating with them on.

The lesson that I learned today is somewhat simple when stated, however in application I am finding that it has been extremely hard to understand for others. The concept is as follows:

If we setup in our minds that the reward for doing something is failure, we soon lose interest in doing any of the steps associated with that goal.

Simply put if you think you are or focus on the failure of a thing you soon will begin to stop moving in the direction of the completion of that thing. I shake my head for all the times that I felt that way about something that at one point I was on fire for. Ready to go out into the world and hunt that thing down kill it and drag it back home. Visions of being a victor of fear and doubt, hearing the cheers of the crowd of doing battle and winning. Only to lose the drive to finish and having the project fade into obscurity. We have all been there. The question really is… Are those hopes, dreams, and opportunities really gone? Or is it that we have covered them up with the many layers of excuses that we so quickly become comfortable with these days?

Take a moment and reflect on those things that you might have been really wanting in your life and see if they are possibly valid now for you. That beachfront home or the car of your dreams or even being physically fit. They are all still possible and you never know a dream you might have had could be the key to your future and you had it inside you all the time.

If you find something or you might even have something that you are bringing to reality, the first step is clearly identifying what it is going to mean to you to have or achieve it in todays terms. For myself the turning point was deciding to become Debt-Free. When I looked at my household debt of over $90,000 dollars, I realized that I had been living numb to the where I was headed and made up my mind that enough was enough. I set out to not only crush the debt but to come up with a plan to do it quickly. I will be sharing the method by which I did it in a series of posts called “Steps To End Debt Now”. Once I got fired up I realized that I could not do it without a system and that a system would not work until I was honest with myself and admitted where I was.

That bit of clarity combined with a proven system made a change in life that has been immeasurable.
